Tattoo Bookings And Procedures

So you've been thinking of getting a tattoo for some time, you already know what you would like and you have made the correct decision of getting your ink done in a professional tattoo studio and not in your mate's basement.

First of all, make sure that you know what tattoo design you want. It's important to put a lot of thought into this as it is permanent. The worse thing you could do is make an impulse decision and rush the process.

Make sure that you have something to eat before going into the studio to keep your blood sugar up. This will minimise the chances of light-headedness.

Wear clean, comfortable clothing, avoid wearing light colour clothing as during the process you will bleed a little and risk staining your clothes.

Communicate with your artist. Let them know if you need a breather as breaks are not uncommon during the procedure.

DO NOT consume alcohol, take drugs that are not prescribed to you, or anticoagulants as all these thin the blood and could have detrimental effects on your tattoos quality and your health.

A.
The costs involved with a tattoo varies depending on each project. Factors that come into play are generally the scale, complexity and time it takes to complete the design.

Q. I already have an idea of what I want, however, I don't have an exact example. Is it possible to get some concept art done and how much does it cost?

A.
All our tattooist are skilled artists. It's very rare to work from a template of designs that get repeated from customer to customer as tattoos are generally unique and personal to the individual. Our artist are happy to create concept art but again, costings involved is dependent on the time it takes to create the design.

Q. Do I need to make a booking?

A.
Booking in tattoos really depends on the size and complexity of the work and how busy our artists are. It's always a better idea to book in advance, it makes everything run much smoother here at the studio and gives you a chance to prepare yourself for the tattoo. However there is always a good chance we can fit you in spur of the moment and there's nothing wrong with coming in and sorting something out face to face. So don’t hesitate to call into the studio or give us a ring.

Q. How long does it take to get a tattoo done?

A.
Depending on the scale and complexity of the design, a tattoo could take from less than an hour to being several. It's not uncommon for clients to leave the studio with an incomplete tattoo and return another day to have more work done until completion.

Q. Will getting a tattoo hurt?

A.
The process of getting a tattoo involves a motorized needle puncturing your skin at an incredibly high speed over a prolonged period, so yes it is going to hurt. As tolerance of pain differs from person to person, it's impossible to determine how much it's going to hurt for the individual; however with that said, the initial panic is usually significantly worse than the pain itself. Also depending on what part of the body is getting the tattoo is an important factor.
